Rapaki Hills Walk Martinborough

The Rapaki walk is across farm land with spectacular views of the Wairarapa Valley. The walk requires moderate fitness as there are some steepish slopes and several stiles making it difficult for people with disabilities to negotiate. There is an optional viewing area over the scenic Te Muna valley.
Please note that large curious cattle with horns may be encountered, just ignore them! Sturdy footwear is recommended.

Dogs are allowed but must be on a lead and have a current worming certificate from a vet. This is to prevent the spread of "sheep measles". You will encounter some electric fences (scale via stiles) which may be problematic for large dogs. Walking from the Martinborough Square to the start of the Rapaki walk (on Te Muna Rd) takes half an hour. It takes one and a half hours to return to Martinborough.

Please note that the walk is closed from mid July till the end of August for lambing.
