Kahu Cottage, Huangarua Road, Martinborough

Kahu Cottage is a prizewinning guest house set in a vineyard about five minutes walk from Martinborough Square.

On the ground floor is a large sitting room with a wood stove and Sky television. This room leads into a well equipped kitchen/dining area with a cook top, microwave, stove and dishwasher. French doors open onto a pretty patio.

Up the circular staircase are two double bedrooms, one with queen-sized bed and the other with twin beds. The floors feature some of the owners collection of Persian rugs.

The house is surrounded by vines and a cottage garden. Tuis, bellbirds and, of course, the New Zealand hawk, the Kahu, make the place their home.

The vineyard is managed by Ata Rangi, one of New Zealand's premier wineries and the Riesling grown on the property produces Ata Rangi's superb dessert wine, Kahu. Guests receive a complimentary bottle of Ata Rangi wine when they arrive.

The midweek tariff is $140 per night
 
For stays of four nights or more a special rate can be arranged
